Air Force Good Conduct Military Medals

The Air Force Good Conduct Medal (AGCM) is a military medal awarded to enlisted members of the United States Air Force who have demonstrated exemplary conduct, efficiency, and fidelity while serving on active duty. The medal was first established in 1963 and is awarded for each three-year period of service in the Air Force without a court-martial conviction.

The Air Force Good Conduct Medal is awarded to enlisted personnel who have served honorably for three years or more while in active duty service. Eligibility for the medal requires that enlisted personnel must display exemplary conduct, efficiency, and fidelity during their service, including having no disciplinary infractions.

The medal is bronze in color and features an eagle with wings spread, holding a banner with the motto “Honor – Integrity – Service” in its talons. The reverse side of the medal contains the inscription “For Good Conduct” along with the recipient’s name, branch of service, and rank.

The Air Force Good Conduct Medal Ribbon has a blue background with a narrow red stripe in the center, flanked by two narrow white stripes on either side in the middle and is worn on the left side of the uniform. A bronze oak leaf cluster is added for each additional three-year period of qualifying service for an outstanding record of good conduct.
